I would have blamed this on the continued commercial use of motorcycles commonly known as 'Okada', but i had a second thought.
Lagos state government had wanted to ban the use of okada as is the case in many states in Nigeria now, but for the outcry from the okada riders and their customers, it peddled down a little.
But like i said, i wanted to blame this on the okada man but after hearing how the sad event happened, i got to know that it was the okada man trying to manoeuvre his way through while the trailer carrying sharp sand was tripping over.
It happened yesterday evening at Ijoju, Sango Ota in Lagos and instantly left the two dead.

7 Feared Dead as Building Collapses in Abia State

There is report that a building yesterday collapsed in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State late in the evening that has 7 persons feared dead.

The persons were engulfed in the collapsed building since last night and attempts from Red Cross and other voluntary individuals have yielded no result in saving them from the rubble.

Rivers Youth Movement Passes Vote Of Confidence On Amaechi

Rivers Youth Movement (RYM) worldwide numbering over two million on Friday, May 10th, pledged their support and loyalty to the Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.

RYM also passed a vote of confidence on the Rivers State Governor for his landmark achievements in the state.

President-General of the Rivers Youth Movement, Engr. Richard Alete briefing pressmen said the movement would continue to support good leadership as demonstrated by Governor Amaechi.

This year has been experiencing heavy downpour and when you would think that it is slowing down, it sets in again.
The poor man whose picture who will be viewing soon, Adeolu Adeleke, 52,met his death at Marina Car Park, Lagos Island at the hands of  a communication mast last Friday while he was securing his goods from the rain. He was a trader, a father, husband and a breadwinner to a family that will not have that opportunity anymore.

Whether the owners of the mast is MTN, GLO, ETISALAT, AIRTEL etc is a fact yet to be unraveled. See the disturbing picture when you continue...

If you do not know him then you must have heard the ever popular song, 'Yori Yori', yes he is one of the two singers known as bracket.
I cannot really bring myself to write this but i am only doing so because i need you to please pray for his recovery.
Nwachukwu Ozioko known as Vast in their Bracket record label is or i would love to say, he was diagnosed with Lymphoma (cancer of the blood), and had been having  symptoms of continuous coughing, weight loss, body pains, headaches and weakness and went for a diagnose in a hospital in Nigeria that took over 3 months to come out with the result, which by then had spread to his liver.

The implication of these new add to the the Globacom ambassadors list is that some of the old ambassadors would be dropped. The names of the one dropped (especially the actors and actresses) would soon be announced and i will publish it here for you as usual.
Meanwhile, i think saying congratulations to the new ambassadors are in order after all, we all talking about a deal that runs into 15 to 20 million yearly and all you have to do is sing a song when they want you to and perhaps appear on the billboards and recharge cards.

Actress Ngozi Nwosu Back to the Country Fully Recovered

This is about one of the best news i have heard today. Nollywood actress, Ngozi Nwosu had been critically sick that she needed a transplant to fully recover from kidney and heart related ailments and with the alms from good meaning Nigerians who donated N2 million and the government of Lagos State raising the remaining N4 million, she had that opportunity and today she is with us in the country stronger than she left it.
