Army in Rivers Arrests 2 Fake Soldiers, Prophet in Port Harcourt

The Two Brigade Nigerian Army Command in Bori Camp, Port Harcourt, has paraded two fake soldiers who specialise in impersonating army officials to dupe the general public.

The army also paraded a self-confessed fake pastor who specialises in deceiving members of his congregation with fake miracles and testimonies.

The army public relations officer of the two brigade command of the Nigerian Army, Capt. Ely Lazarus, said the fake soldiers were arrested last week while on a military uniform.

He said: “Mr Samual Agaga was arrested at Saipem area of Port Harcourt. He was dressed in full military uniform with a rank as a major, while Fabian was arrested in Ibiama in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State. They have been impersonating our military officers using our military uniform and having dealings with unsuspecting members of the public.

“I’m sure they have defrauded a lot of unsuspecting members of the public, but unfortunately they met their waterloo when our men intercepted them in the course of their notorious activities,” he added.

Lazarus warned the public against dealing with people who lack proper form of identification.

“I want to use this opportunity to enjoin members of the public to be weary of such unscrupulous element that are giving the army bad image. Anytime you want to have a dealing with a military officer, feel free to check with the military authorities to be sure you are dealin with our military officers.

The arrested persons confirmed to committing to the crimes for which they were arrested.

One of them said: “I was arrested because my daddy was an ex policeman, so I had the uniform and I put it in the car to avoid police molestation along the road when I transport cannabis.”

Another said: “They called me in respect of my land on the road side where one of the chief stopped my people from building. I got the uniform from someone in Kaduna and I came all the way to the airport. When I landed I dressed up and went to a military formation to meet soldiers that would excort me to see the chief.”

While the fake pastor said: “why I am here is because of a crime of false testimony in the church and the revelation in my ministry. I started the ministry not too long and a brother introduced me to ways to use in performing miracles.”
