Truth is that Nollywood's controversial actress, Tonto Dike, who is always in the news for either good or bad (though mostly bad), did a very surprising thing today.
The actress who lost her mother on 23 October many yeas ago at a very young age remembered her late mum in a special way. She did not write any messy note or cursed anyone today. She has been missing on the screen of Nigerian latest movies and this is because she had been pregnant with her second child. And so with a gladdened heart i announce to you that our darling Mercy Johnson has put to bed and this time a baby boy.

She gave birth in the early hours of Wednesday (today) at St Joseph Hospital, University of Maryland, Baltimore in US. She and baby are doing alright as she sends her love to her fans, family and friends.

Oh God! Stray Bullet Kills Nollywood Actor, Clems Onyeka This Tuesday Afternoon

This is such a sad day for the fans and lovers of Nollywood actor, Clems Onyeka, a fast rising Nollwood actor. He was hit by a stray bullet from armed robbers who robbed a bank.
The robbers after robbing the bank (name withheld), in Asaba where exchanging gunshots with policemen when Clem was mistakenly hit. Onlookers said he died on the spot. He might have been in Asaba for a movie shoot when he met his untimely death at the prime age of 37. Rest in Peace Clem, so sad.

RIVPOLY to be Re-opened after Nearly 2 Weeks of Closure

Following its inauguration, the new governing council of the Rivers State Polytechnic (RIVPOLY) in Bori, has expressed its readiness to work towards the quick reopening of the institution which was shut down barely two weeks ago. Read it Here

The Polytechnic was shut down indefinitely by the School authorities on October 2, 2014 following a violent protest by some students of the institution.

The new chairman of the Governing Council of RIVPOLY, independence Enyinda stated this shortly after the new RIVPOLY Governing council was sworn-in by Governor Chibuike Amaechi at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Monday.

Baker Kills Naming Ceremony Guest with Poisoned La Casera Soft Drink

According to Tribune newspaper, authorities of the Osun State Police Command have apprehended a bakery worker for allegedly killing a guest of his boss with herbicide during a naming ceremony in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

Parading the 27-year-old suspect, identified as Taofeek Adeyemo before newsmen over the weekend, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Abubakar Marafa, said he would be arraigned in court after the conclusion of investigation into the dastardly act.

Nigerian Tribune authoritatively gathered that Taofeek, who was in charge of food and drinks during the social function, had allegedly poured the poisonous herbicide inside a plastic bottle of Lacasera, with a view to give it to a colleague he had planned to harm out of jealousy.
However, a guest, who was apparently under the influence of alcohol innocently took the drink and drank it, mistaking it for a bottle of Lacasera. He was said to have died shortly after he was rushed to hospital for medical help.

Two Nigerian Former Governors Lose Son, Daughter on Friday and Saturday

Two tragic events happened to former military administrator of Kano and Benue States, Brigadier General Dominic Oneya, and former Bayelsa State Governor, Diepreye Alamaseigha. Both lost a daughter and a son on Friday October 10, and Saturday October 11, respectively.
The detail of the death of Alamaseigha’s son (Omo Alamaseigha) is yet to be gotten, but sources has it that he was found dead in his hotel room in Dubai on Saturday. His dad has since left for Dubai to handle the burial arrangement.
