Rivers Governor Offers Amnesty to Repentant Cultists in Rivers

Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike said his Administration is
ready to offer Amnesty to repentant cultists in the State who are
willing to lay down their arms and embrace peace.

Governor Wike who revealed this when the National
Administrative Council of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and
Natural Gas Workers - NUPENG, led by its President, Achese
Igwe paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House in Port
Harcourt, also said the State Government will continue to work
with security agencies to deal decisively with recalcitrant cultists
in the State.

Governor Wike while appreciating NUPENG for suspending their
strike after he had pleaded with them, noted the State
Government has already reciprocated the kind gesture by calling
on the Oil companies involved in the industrial dispute to recall all
the sacked workers.
                                                                                                                                       
President of NUPENG, Achese Igwe in his speech commended
Governor Nyesom Wike for his developmental strides in the State
and for his intervention in the strike, while asking for his approval
of Certificate of Occupancy, for the ongoing construction of
Tankers Village at Eleme.
