The Nigeria Labour
Congress (NLC) has threatened to embark on another strike against what it
termed “the outrageous annual basic salaries” of the law makers in Nigeria.
The union described the
basic salaries of the law makers as injurious to the economy, unfair,
insensitive and unsustainable.
The Vice President of
the NLC, Comrade Issa Aramu who spoke at a ceremony in Ilorin, the Kwara State
Capital, said it would take an average worker 667 years to be at the same
salary level with the lawmaker whose total emolument per annum was put at about
N46 million.
