TIMARIV Boss Dismisses Petition Against The Agency, Calls For Help With Payment Of Staff Salaries

Nelson Jaja
By Dan Metong-Joseph

An appeal has gone to the Rivers State Government to take over the payment of salaries of staff of the State Transport Management Authority (TIMARIV), to cushion the effort of the agency in beefing up traffic control measures in the state.
State Comptroller General of TIMARIV, Mr. Nelson Jaja, who made the entreaty, said the agency would not go back on its frontal traffic control mechanisms to get rid of traffic bottlenecks in the state, stressing that the agency which is the enforcement unit of the Ministry of Transport, was discussing with the state government to take over the payment of salaries of its staff to reduce the financial burden of the agency in order to enable it function effectively.
Mr. Jaja said the idea to handover salaries of staff of the TIMARIV to its mother Ministry of Transport, is intended to ensure better welfare for staff as well as repositioning the agency for higher productivity. According to him, available fund for the agency would be able to attend to the multifarious needs of the agency, including motivating workers to drastically check the flagrant abuse of traffic laws in the state.
“I am concerned about staff salaries in order to avoid incidents of corruption because, if the people don’t have money, incidents of corruption may rise. Traffic offenders who are meant to pay fines to government will end up in the staff’s pocket, just to feed himself since he is not being paid his salary regularly.
I am begging the state authorities to take over the monthly salaries, like other civil servants, so that every month their salaries would be settled also. I’ve begged the Commissioner for Transport, we made representation to the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning and Finance respectively, they are looking into it. Actress Ayo Adesanya Says Removing Her Tattoo is More Painful than When she Put It On

Beautiful and bulky eyed actress, Ayo Adesanya, says she regrets having a tattoo on her arm or any part of her body after realising that it was actually a sin against God to have one on.
She had the tattoo when she was head over heels in love with Goriola; inscribing his alias on her arm.
Ayo who had been separated from her husband and father to her only child said it is actually more painful to remove a tattoo than having one.

Recounting her ordeal at removing it, she said, “I recently had a surgery, it’s fading off gradually but it’s so painful. It gets swollen and too painful. It was painful when I first did it but removing it now is more painful. I’m supposed to go for another surgery soon,” Ayo said.

While people are wondering if she decided to remove the tattoo because she was no longer with Goriola, she said it was not so. She rather said that she made the decision after visiting a pastor of a church.

“I actually went to a church to pray and they gave me a Bible verse (Leviticus 19 vs 28). I never knew it was against Christianity until the Pastor opened a passage that I should read, and that was how I knew. It’s actually so beautiful when you have tattoos but immediately I knew it was a sin then, I made up my mind to clean it.”
Is it worth it to go through having a tattoo when you would eventually come to hate it?

Wow! Genevieve and Omotola Now Friends after Years of Disaffection

Omotola and Genevieve
What you are seeing above is a source of joy to me.
These two Nollywood actresses have been at silent cold war with each other with Omotola not hiding the fact that she isn't a friend to Genevieve and so on.
Genevieve had since they fell apart as friends never attended Omotola's paties nor invited Omotola to hers.
The picture above was taken last week during Omotola's 35th birthday. Genny honouring the invitation is an indication that things are getting better between them.

They cut cake together, were around each other most of the time, and of course, took pictures together.
This is indeed a welcomed development. click on read more below to see another picture
