It is really a sad story. I felt so bad when i heard of Dr Ameyo Stella Adadevoh's death who single-handedly prevented Patrick Sawyer (the Liberian man who brought Ebola to Nigeria) from leaving the hospital for Cross Rivers State where he was slated to attend a conference.
She never gave in even when the Liberian Ambassador to Nigeria was hot on her neck to release Patrick. Imagine what would have been the case in Nigeria? She was indeed a heroin and that is why Stella Damasus is championing the call to award the Dr Stella who is a single mother of one. Continue to see what Stella wrote about the doctor and how you can sign up for the move...
“Kind and beautiful Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh stood her ground to protect Nigeria. She refused to allow Mr. Patrick Sawyer (the Liberian-American infected with the Ebola Virus) leave First Consultant Hospital even when the Liberian Ambassador pressured her to release him.
Late Dr Ameyo Stella Adadevoh "Imagine what would have happened if she had let him go. Ebola would have been more widespread in Nigeria than what we are dealing with now. She died on the evening of the 19th of August 2014 and I strongly believe she deserves a National Posthumous Award. If we don’t celebrate people like this who sacrifice their lives to save others then please tell me why any of us should do the same."Give honor to whom honor is due,” Stella Damasus said.
