According to Tribune newspaper, authorities of the Osun State Police Command
have apprehended a bakery worker for allegedly killing a guest of his boss with
herbicide during a naming ceremony in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Parading the 27-year-old suspect, identified as Taofeek Adeyemo before
newsmen over the weekend, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Abubakar Marafa,
said he would be arraigned in court after the conclusion of investigation into
the dastardly act.
Nigerian Tribune authoritatively gathered that Taofeek, who was in charge of
food and drinks during the social function, had allegedly poured the poisonous
herbicide inside a plastic bottle of Lacasera, with a view to give it to a
colleague he had planned to harm out of jealousy.
However, a guest, who was apparently under the influence of alcohol
innocently took the drink and drank it, mistaking it for a bottle of Lacasera.
He was said to have died shortly after he was rushed to hospital for medical
help.
