Government
of Rivers State has refuted the report of Cholera Outbreak at Kula community,
in Akuku Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State as false and baseless.
Director
of Public Health, Rivers State Ministry of Health, Dr. Akuro Okujagu, on
Monday, 25th February, said the report making rounds as regards the outbreak of
cholera contained no iota of truth in it.
He
said medical personnel and disease surveillance officers who were on ground at
the Local Government Area did not confirm the purported cholera outbreak and
wondered where the report of the outbreak emanated from.
Meanwhile, some people interviewed at the community did not refute or confirm the rumour.
