Amaechi Describes Governorship, House of Assembly Election in Rivers as Sham

Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi has declared the governorship and state house of assembly election in the state as a sham.

Amaechi came out with shortly after voting in Ward 32 unit 14, Obima Community in Ikwerre Local Government Area.

He said he received reports of numerous hijack of election materials by hoodlums and the killing of about five persons including a policeman in the state following election violence.
He said: “you’ve been following me around, haven’t you seen thuggery? For the first time you have materials been hijacked. In fact what actually led us to that road was the report that there was an ambush on that road.
Governor Amaechi accused President Goodluck Jonathan of ordering the Zone 6 Assistant General of Police, Tunde Ogunsakin, to leave Port Harcourt with immediate effect for allegedly effecting the arrest of divisional police officer in Rivers State.
“Yesterday the president withdrew the AIG, Ogunsakin and asked him to go back to Calabar just because he arrested the DPO who took out four ward result sheets and gave to militants," the governor alleged.
